Emma Underwood is a transgender musician and filmmaker from Ithaca, New York. Her work is the culmination of many years of social and sonic experiments in underground music and art within queer communities.
Her work thematically explores queer identity, community building, and her experience with mental illness. She is inspired by her community and finds strength in connection with others.
She is grateful to be a continuing member of the theatrical musical project Trans Am (NYC), as well as number of other musical acts in Upstate New York.
In 2022 she directed and produced the short film Transmission: Lisa Stephen Friday with associate producer Francis Keahna.
